Well, 3 hours...
Got her home, she drove beautifully. Got her in the driveway and all cleaned up. All the neighbors driving by giving me the stink eye.
Went for a drive, and then stopped to let the F-car be in its natural habitat; the gas station...
And then it threw a CEL... (really) about a mile or so down the road from the gas station. The cap was really really really tight when I filled up so my guess is that the seal on the cap needs replaced and I didn’t tighten it enough. I will see if it clears after tightening and a short drive tomorrow (pray).
But damn does this thing sound so nice.

Congrats again on the Fezza and hope it does go away!

Very nice man! I hope your CEL goes away as well. is it Gated or F1?

Don;t you have a scanner? :p

You should totally do this by the way in front of your neighbors.

I’ve have been MORE jealous in my life,I definitely have. But it’s not by much. Enjoy the F-car while you’ve got it around! (99% sure you said you were going to flip it but I can’t be sure).

That is a really weird looking Gallardo - whats with the small headlamps and foglights?

Don’t worry about the CEL, even a little. In fact, buy a code reader — this CEL will not be the only one you get. My CEL came on periodically to indicate “multiple random misfires.” Scared the hell out of me until the tech at Algar Ferrari, who was otherwise extremely fastidious in every detail, told me the best solution was to just restart the car again and it’ll go away (which it did, the entire time I owned it). These cars are finicky and CELs are a way of life.
What year is yours?
![]() 05/13/2015 at 23:46 |

Beautiful car. Hopefully the CEL is just the gas cap!

Flipping it should be hard, it’s quite low to the ground, but I’m sure it will make a spectacular youtube video.
![]() 05/13/2015 at 23:48 |

If there isn’t a year out there where this is the real thing, I suspect Farmer’s didn’t get permission to show the real thing.

OH MY FUCKING GOD DEMURO WE KNOW YOU OWNED A FERRARI NOBODY CARES ANYMORE
:P
![]() 05/13/2015 at 23:49 |

Ugh, not another article from that guy that owns a Ferrari.
![]() 05/13/2015 at 23:52 |

Better get used to this, because you’ll be doing that A LOT.

You know what’s funny? I’m now 7 Hummer posts in and 5 Skyline posts in and nobody has said anything like that. Not a word about “you post about your Hummer too much” or “We already know you have a Skyline” etc. By comparison, after 12 Ferrari posts, people wanted my head. Jealousy is a sad thing...
![]() 05/13/2015 at 23:58 |

Happens in lots of commercials-they try and disguise the cars but all the Jalops can tell what it is. Legal stuff...

I like the Hummer. A lot. More than the others except MAYBE the CTS (because Cadillac)

You post about your PT Cruiser too much.
Lmao :P

I actually kind of dig the F430 wheels on that car. Also, that Challenge grill is the shit, I can't recall how much the option costed initially but it's so worth it.
![]() 05/14/2015 at 00:20 |

They don’t want to pay for the rights to use the car’s image. It’s like on TV shows where computers/monitors have the logo taped over or blacked out. It’s a licensing thing.
![]() 05/14/2015 at 00:25 |

You just like bragging about getting a Hummer while living in a sketchy part of Philadelphia.
![]() 05/14/2015 at 00:31 |

Nah we actually like those cars
![]() 05/14/2015 at 00:46 |

Yea I am 95% sure its the gas cap. This car has been a desert car the last 5 years too so that rubber gasket wearing thin and causing a “vacuum leak” is also likely. I have code readers at work so I’ll check it in the morning (if its not off by the time I get there) but I also have 5 days to bring it back and get all my $$$ back in case its something major.
Its a 2000 with 18,300 on the clock,

it disappeared somewhere along one of my moves.

Its F1 (I know. I know) but it was such a good deal I couldn’t turn it down.

The wheels belong to a Camaro, I really want to know more about this...
![]() 05/14/2015 at 00:55 |

Hey I don’t blame you. My Mustang GT and Gran Torino are autos.
Hey if it was a good deal then man you got one hell of a car. If you don’t mind me asking the most stereotypical question that DeMuro said people ask “How much was it?” Also Fast and Furious quote can apply here.

One of my buddies bought an F355 convertible (f1 trans) a month and a half ago!
Congrats man!!! So much giddyness awaits you.

just restart the car again and it’ll go away
Just like when my grandmother has issues with her computer.

Ahh... a 2000. Be sure to also check for the stamp on the block indicating that the cam variator recall has been done, and get a clutch life check from a dealer!
![]() 05/14/2015 at 01:59 |
|
I’ll guess 69K.
![]() 05/14/2015 at 02:05 |
|
According to the other guys, it is probably disguised by the advertiser to avoid paying licensing to Lamborghini
![]() 05/14/2015 at 02:06 |

Clutch was replaced 5k mi ago, it was at 69% life, and the NHTSA site shows no outstanding recalls on this vin, but I will double check for the stamp. thanks for the tips.

Can I borrow it so I can drive it to autozone and ask the pimply youth if he has a gas cap for a ferrari.

Save me the hassle of being an internet sleuth and give me a hint, whats the green car?

Nice!!

Very nice! The silver looks great.
If it’s the same system that went into the Quatrroporte, beware of clutch changes every 3k.

While I am happy for you, I’m sorry, I can’t help but laugh at the CEL.

I’m ok with Skyline and Hummer posts.

Also, details on this?
You look to be doing quite well, what field of engineering are you? I’m Mechanical myself, but work in the Gas and Oil sector.

On which one, The Fiat or the Yamaha?
I am an engineering dropout now...

I mean, It’s a phenomenal car. It sounds amazing, even though it is stock, and its one of the smoothest driving cars I’ve owned (this is #15 in 11 years), yet its flat as anything in the turns.
That being said, I always assumed when I finally got a Ferrari it would be some magical connection, like, every time I sit in it, it would just hug me back and say thank you. It does not.

Doing a full suspension rebuild right now, springs, arms, bushings, shocks, etc. also fixing some body issues. It should be done in about a month.
